Sander Ness – 40 years in the postoffice

Sander Ness, money order courier at the Oslo Post Office, celebrates 40 years as a postman and has recently been awarded the King’s Medal of Merit.

Ness was born in 1869 in Nesbyen. After attending the 2nd Brigade’s non-commissioned officer’s school, he was employed by the postal service in 1893 and has been a postman since 1914. For many years he has worked in central Oslo.

Ness has been very interested in his employment organizations, first in the Postmen’s Association as chairman, then in Oslo Circle and later in the Bank Postmen’s Association.

Among colleagues and friends, this veteran postman is considered a sociable and conscientious man.
