Erik was declared dead on 29 February 1822, Vestre Sougstad – https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070110640214. He went missing on the ice and his horse was later found drowned. Erik had not been found by 26 November 1823. He owned and lived at Sougstadeie. His son Johannes lived at and owned Sogstadbakken which is probably the same place
Marie died on 27 February 1849 (aged 74) at Sougstadbakken. – https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070110650607 (#9). She was a ‘føderaansenke’, somebody who is the widow of the owner of a farm before adult children take over. Her son Johannes had the farm
Evidence and other information
Erik Johnsen was born at Herseth and probably lived there in 1801 according to census data. He lived at Sougstad when he got married a few years later according to the marriage record. The family moved to Herambs, where his oldest son Johannes Eriksen was born. They then moved to Ingeberg before finally settling at Sougstad where he owned his farm. There were several farms at Sougstad and Sougstadbakken is probably the farm Vestre Sougstad.
Johannes Eriksen lived, later owned, and died at Sougstad/Sougstadbakken According to his marriage record, his father was Erik Johnsen. According to baptism and confirmation records his parents were Erik Johnsen and Marie Jensdatter. The dates and places for him are close enough to support the above people being his correct parents.
For Marie Jensdatter there several possibilities for the Ringsaker area, some of which have been investigated and found not to be a match. However, I can not find enough evidence to support any of the other options. She may even have come from further afield. Looking at the names of her children I have not found the names Christopher or Agnethe in any of the options I have looked at.
From the marriage record she possibly lived at Soug which is a neighbouring farm.
