They had no children but he had previously fathered 2 daughters: Olga Mathilde Johansen (1895-1951) gave birth to Else Synnøve Fossum (1917-1942) and Sigrid Gustava Hendriksen (1897-1980) gave birth to Edel Therese Fossum (1918-2012)
      3. Dagny Fossum (1899-1977), married to Halfdan Møller (1900-1952). They had 3 children: Halvdan, Dagfin Arne & Eva Johanne
      4. Johan (1900-1901) died.
      5. Erling Johannes Fossum (1906-1977), married to Hjørdis Lovise Beck (1905-1985). They had the following children: Bjørg Fossum, Sverre Frimann Fossum, and Tore Fossum (married to Marit Inger with a son Geir Tore Fossum)

Ole and Berte had separated by the time of the 1865 census.

Berte lived at Sandbakken, Land Prestegjeld

  • Edvard Olsen (6 ~ 1859), her son
  • Karen Olsdatter (16 ~1849), her daughter (she should be 9 !)

Her daughter Inger Karine was 16 at the time of this census. She lived with her grandparents Embret Olsen and Ingeborg Knutsdtr at Staum

Ole Andersen lived at Haugen, Biri as a lodger

By the 1875 Census Berte is iving alone at Ringen, N Land. She is a weaver. Ole lived at Skundberg as a lodger. He was a bricklayer and carpenter.

For the 1891 Census Berte is still living at Ringen, Fossum. She is living on interest on a small capital, possibly inherited from her father. She’s supplementing her income with some handicraft work like weaving.

in 1875 Ole is living at Skundbergsengen and is a tradesman, bricklayer, and carpenter

By the time of the 1900 Census, Ole is dead and Berte is still living at Ringen. She is also living at Ringen in 1910.

Death:

Ole Andersen died at Skundbergsengen, Snertingdal on 11 April 1894 from Pneumonia.

Berte died at Lunde Old People’s Home, Land on 5 May 1914 from old age.

Other information

There were two possible Ole Andersen born about the right period with an Anders Olsen as a father. I have come to the conclusion that the same Anders Olsen was the father of both. The census data and death record indicate that the first Ole Anderson, born in 1822, is my direct relative and the husband of Berte Maria Engebretsdatter. The second Ole Andersen is most likely his half brother
