  • 1865 : 31 December Kvinnherad Census for Haugedunsbakken has John Olsen (age 41) living with his wife Margrethe Jakobsdatter (36) and their children Kari (15), Elen (12), Anna (9), Alis (7), Jakob (4) & Ole (1).
  • 1891 : 1 January Kvinnherad Census has John Olavson Dunbakken, now a ship and house builder as well as a carpenter and farmer, living with his wife Margrethe Jakobsdatter (61) and their sons Jon and Brynjulv
  • 1910 : Kvinnherad Census has John Olsen Dunbakken, a carpener, (dob 15/01/1825) with his wife Margrete Jakobsdatter (20/02/1830) and their daugher Elen (dob 27/05/1854).
    Also living with them is his grandson Brynjulv Jonsen (dob 26 June 1897), the son of his son John Johnson (25/11/1870) from his 1st marriage. John Johnson is living at the same farm, which he owns, with his new wife Karoline Eilivsdatter (29/05/1877) and 6 children. The records has not been scanned but have been indexed and can be searched.

Death:

John Olavson died a widower 8 November 1917, cause of death unknown.
