David Osa (1920 — 1965)

David was born in Osa on 17 April 1920. He wanted to travel the world so set off to sea. I have found ships records for entry to the USA where he is listed as crew. I know he crossed the equator on at least one of his sailings.
When he came back to Norway he joined the local police and worked as a sheriff in various places on the west coast. During the war, he continued to work for the police whilst providing information to the resistance.
He met my mother at his sister’s house and they married in 1947. He went back to school in the evenings where he studied law and he graduated as a lawyer in 1955. He later worked at the City Hall where one new years eve he married 1 couple every minute.
He died from lung cancer on 5 September 1965.
